Meet the Slate of Nominees

Chattanooga-native and artist, Cat Collier Martinez, won the nomination to be chapter President for her strong leadership experience and exceptional organizational skills. Cat has made huge contributions to the chapter since taking on the dual roles of Secretary and Treasurer last year and she has plans to take this organization to the next level.

Artist and designer, Taylor Kinser, is another native of the Scenic City. Taylor recently graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where she earned a BFA in Graphic Design. She is a problem solver, communicator and an explorer. Taylor’s service as Events Coordinator on AIGA Chattanooga’s Events & Programming team has given her valuable experience that will serve her well in her new post.

Membership Director
Texas-born Fernando Martinez is an in-house designer who believes in the power of design. Under Fernando’s leadership as Membership Director the chapter has enjoyed a significant boost to its membership, as it more than doubled in the last two years. Fernando continues to lead the campaign of face-to-face relationship building with the aim of growing membership and to increase member involvement in chapter initiatives by working with each member of the Board to design an entirely new member experience in Chattanooga.

Communications Director
Strat Parrott rejoined the Board in 2013, having previously served as Events Director in the past. Strat is a designer, business owner, adventurer and world traveler. There seems to be no job too big or too small for Strat and our chapter will benefit from having him continue to serve as Communications Director.

Events & Programming Director
Designer Ben Dicks comes to us from Decatur, GA. A graduate of Auburn University, Ben graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design and served as President of AIGA Auburn. As a member and volunteer of AIGA Chattanooga, Ben has enjoyed learning from and collaborating with the chapter’s many talented members, and is excited to see AIGA continue to contribute positively to Chattanooga’s designers and the community as a whole. As Events & Programming Director, Ben will work especially closely with the Membership and Communications teams to further develop the events and programming our membership is seeking.

Sponsorship & Development Director
Dustin Hysinger gained experience as AIGA Chattanooga’s Hospitality Manager, working alongside the Events & Programming team starting in early 2013. A recent graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Dustin’s graphic design and marketing background, coupled with his experience working with the Chattanooga Convention & Visitors Bureau makes him a fine candidate to help the chapter as Sponsorship & Development Director.
