My First Drink & Draw

What screams of a fun night better than drinking beer, drawing and getting to know new friends? NOTHING, if you’ve been to a Drink & Draw at Society of Work.

I attended my first Drink & Draw in June. I’m no professional, I’ll gladly claim the title of “doodler”, but regardless of your experience putting pen to paper, Drink & Draw is a night to make your mark and to share a brew with friends, both old and new.

On my first outing, I met several people who enjoyed drawing and sketching for fun and met others who made a living from their drawings. There was plenty of good conversation, lots of laughs, a variety of drawing skills and styles, and an atmosphere of creative confidence that is encouraging whether you draw in secret, draw on expensive paper, or just draw on napkins! For some of us “inspiration” came from a bucket of words provided to help stir the creative juices, while others, like myself, just doodled away making marks of whatever popped into our heads! It was so much fun, and was such a great opportunity to meet new people and unwind after a long day at work.

I will definitely be attending the next gathering on September 10th at 6pm. And, you should too! See below for event details, and don’t forget to register for the event.

Don’t be shy, bring a friend and any special drawing supplies you fancy! Drawing paper is provided, however feel free to bring your sketchbook, if you prefer. Oh, yeah, and beer is included with your admission, so bring your I.D.!

See you there!
