Dev Dev invites designers to initiate their inner hackers

October 18, 2013 / By aigachattanooga

Dev Dev, a partnership between engage 3D, the Chattanooga Public Library and AIGA Chattanooga, is coordinating , a hackathon focused on education and highlighting development as a collaborative and creative effort. To this end, we want to invite designers, artists, writers and other innovators of any experience level to participate in this unique hacking experience. The hackathon will take place the weekend of November 8-10, 2013, at the Chattanooga WorkSpace.

You’ll get a chance to meet with other designers and developers, learn about their projects and collaborate in teams. There will also be two 2-hour educational sessions available on Saturday, November 9: Introduction to Javascript in the morning and Designers, meet Developers in the afternoon. Introduction to Javascript will offer a quick primer to get you started using Javascript in your web pages. In Designers, meet Developers we’ll discuss ways in which designers and developers can innovate together.

Participation is free of charge, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm and your desire to contribute to something cool. Tickets are limited, however, so we invite our membership to sign up as soon as possible. Become more involved in your local development community!

In an effort to highlight different development backgrounds, Dev Dev has invited UTC Capstone project participants —students tasked with real-life projects under the mentorship of industry professionals— to kickstart their projects at . The Lyndhurst Foundation is sponsoring the hackathon, and the Mozilla Foundation will also be providing support.

More information and tickets available at the Eventbrite page.
